Though I don't think her selections of most/least favorites are always fair, more often than not, she knows what she's looking for and chooses wisely.Īdriano: normally, I don't think he's as boring as most people make him out to be, but agreed, his character on the show was quite lacking. I like how she generally emphasizes taste and effort over appearance. Candace is articulate, relatively positive, but straightforward and eloquent in her judgement calls. Adriano seemed like he wanted to punch Hunter in the face or die in a corner every time this part came about.Ĭandace: she delivers how she always does. Nobody liked it, thought it was humorous, or even that informative of the best strategy. By far, the WORST segment of each episode was "What Would Adriano Do?" during the confection round. Personally, I don't mind it too much-except when he keeps rubbing the amount of time a pair of bakers has in their faces-because he at least tries to have a good time and jazz up the show. I understand why because his humor can be really sarcastic, dry, and degrading of the contestants. Host: A lot of people I know who also watch Sugar Rush really hate Hunter March. I don't know about any of you, but that sounds absolutely terrible. Imagine working really hard in the kitchen for hours and then getting kicked out for no crystal clear reason. At the very least, allow the judges to inform them what they did wrong and reassure them that all hope's not lost. The way each pairing was sent off was quite abrupt. That's what I love about The Great British Bake-Off-the judges/hosts take their time with each contestant, get a chance to share a good laugh, and really observe each sweet creation. If there are any really close time gaps between which pair of bakers finishes, then they can just start on the next item. The original structure was in no way perfect, but just stop each individual timer and let the judges talk, for God's sake! "Wish you could have put a little more salt" or "add more of that filling in the cupcake" aren't insightful of comments enough to really gauge how well/poor the bakers are doing. Structure: Thanks Netflix, for NOT taking into account how flawed the new format is for the show where the bakers have to continue working against their personal timers and start straight after being judged, basically cutting the judge-to-contestant interaction by 50-75%. Christmas is just around the corner and Sugar Rush Christmas just uploaded six episodes.
